Developing Leadership Effectiveness:The Foundations Workshop
Mission: “To create higher levels of personal and organizational performance through effective leadership.
Overview for this 5-day program[customizable to 2, 3 or 4 day formats]:
This interactive program is designed to simplify the complexities of leading and managing in a dynamic Customer-driven environment by providing participants with a blend of key concepts/ideas and tools that assist them in accomplishing more in both their professional and personal life. Through “buddy” and “small group discussions” participants explore key issues facing managers and leaders today, that is, effective communications, successful leadership, continuous improvement, and reward & recognition. A focus (and highlight) of the program is an individual and small group simulation that challenges the participants powers of observation, influence, and communication. In addition, through self-assessments, and other in-class activities, participants answer key questions such as: “Why do People do what they do?”, “How do I adapt my style to match the situation?”, and “How do I increase the performance of individuals and groups?” This session provides participants with the opportunity to establish a personal action plan that can result in lasting improvements for the individual and the organization they lead.

Managing with Impact
Mission: “How to manage effectively in a dynamic and diverse (some even say chaotic) organizational environment by building managers’ awareness of their impact on others.”
Overview for this 2 day program:
This program is designed for managers who have some experience in a supervisory/management role and are ready to increase their effectiveness and that of their people. The on-going development of managers is one of the most important investments that an organization can make – especially as it relates to increasing the capacity of people to adapt and flex to the opportunities that exist. Let’s face it – good managers are key to having a top achievement-oriented organization that is obsessed with results. They are the front-line where operational difficulties must be resolved quickly and people problems must be handled with empathy and professionalism.
Managing effectively in today’s dynamic, diverse workplace demands a new type of management. The new managers must be visionaries, change agents, coaches, and empowerers. As a minimum, the primary responsibilities of a competent and successful manager are to build workers’ skills, maintain/improve productivity, develop a good work environment conducive to goal attainment and advancement, and re-enforce the vision/mission and values of the organization. In addition to the conventional challenges of all managers, they often have increased pressure brought on by: the economic realities facing their organization and general customer and employee attitudes .
This session has a pre-work package that includes a self and others (3600) assessment. For intact teams we also recommend a second cohort of raters, the senior management team also rates each other. The assessments enables participant to analyze the impact they are currently having on people in relation to the impact they would ideally would like to have, management approaches used, and overall effectiveness.
“Tomorrow is already looked after; it is next week, next month, next quarter, next year that we have to prepare for.” – Sid Ridgley
